Review
I came across Trish’s podcast by accident, and I am so glad that I did. I have listened to three episodes in the last 3 days and I am hooked.
Most of the time I feel very weary about these self-help podcasts, because the speaker often comes at you from a very un-relateable place. They’ll rant and they’ll go on about all of the things that you should do, and usually I finish listening with a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth. What are their motives in sharing this information with me? Are they really trying to inspire others, or are they doing it to feel better about themselves?
I try my best to write this blog from a very real place, but I know that I’ve probably failed before – especially in the beginning when I was unsure of what my voice even was.
All this being said, within 2 minutes of listening to Trish, I could tell that she was speaking to her audience from a very real and authentic place. She was unapologetically herself in all her giddiness about her upcoming marriage, her frankness about her past struggles with body dysmorphia/eating disorders, and her sincere plead to her audience to take charge of their life and move themselves forward.
Her voice is gentle, and sincere, and filled with emotion. I picture her getting her entire body involved as she record. Her passion is just so evident, and her belief in the tools that she’s sharing is so apparent that you can’t help but believe her. You can only be told that ‘positive thinking will change your life’ so many times before you want to smack the next person upside the head who tries to feed you that advice. What’s different about Trish, is that she lives her advice. She doesn’t just believe what she’s saying, she’s LIVING what she’s saying.
Don’t just take my word for it. Check out one of her videos.
My recommendation? I highly recommend that you start with Episode #3: You have Permission, just do it. This particular episode really resonated with me, and it’s one that I’ll probably listen to again, and again, and again – just for a reminder. There’s so much great information packed into this 30 minute episode, and I really encourage you to give it a listen.
If you enjoyed the episode, or if you like Trish she also has:
