8-Week Poetry Writing Workshop (Online)

When:
Tuesdays, June 17th – August 12th from 4-6:15pm PT (no class July 8th)

Where: Online, over zoom

Workshop Description:
In this workshop, you’ll explore the metaphors that have shaped your experience, and then you’ll harness your creativity to write new, imaginative metaphors that will breathe new life into the way you see the world. These new metaphors are the seed from which the poetry you write every week will be born. 6 participants max.

Develop a Writing Ritual – 9-Week Program

Where:
Online, Over Zoom

Workshop Description:
Develop a creative writing ritual and start to integrate it into your life in a way that is both sustainable and nourishing. You’ll start the term by choosing a writing goal, and then over the course of the program you’ll begin to move through buried blocks to your creativity and create work that is meaningful to you.

Artist’s Way – 10-Week Program

When:
Thursdays, July 10th – Sept 18th from 5:30-7pm PT (no class July 24th)

Where:
Online, Over Zoom

Workshop Description:
Have you ever thought about writing a book? Or maybe thought about making space in your life for creative or reflective writing? And then immediately shut yourself down. Even though you felt, somewhere deep in your gut, that moving through the initial discomfort of saying ‘yes’ and beginning to write, would be worth it.

In this 10-week reflective workshop, you’ll be guided through a deeply immersive inquiry into your relationship to creativity. Inspired by: ‘The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron, ‘Big Magic’ by Elizabeth Gilbert’, ‘The Creative Habit’ by Twyla Tharp, and more. 10-participants max.

More information coming very soon.

Fall Workshops 2025

Embodied Poetry – 8-Week Poetry Writing Workshop

When:
Mondays, September 8th – November 3rd 2025 from 5:30-7:45pm PT (no class Oct 13th).

Where:
Online, Over Zoom

Workshop Description:
There is a relationship between poetry and the body.

Rhythm can be soothing or disruptive; the sounds of language can resonate within you in a physical way that is both pleasurable and vulnerable; imagery can enliven your memories and imagination; metaphors can invite new ways of perceiving and participating in the world. And all of this is carried by your breath.

Over the next 8 weeks, we’ll explore this relationship between poetry and the body through reading, writing, and engaging in the language of poetry.
6 participants max.

Upcoming

Breathexperience Breath Class – 4 Weeks (online)

When: TBA

Interested in attending this class? Fill out this form.

In this style of breath work, we bring our awareness to the sensation of the movement of our breath, and learn to allow it to come and go on its own, without our control.

Too often the focus is only on how to control the breath to get a specific result. There is a place for this. But Ilse Middendorf, the founder of this work, felt there should also be a place to explore our relationship to the allowed breath; the breath that moves as it will, so long as we soften our judgement on whether it is right or wrong, are willing to meet our patterns of holding (the ways we habitually hold and control the breath), and bring to any discomfort our patience and curiosity.

In its essence, this style of breath work is all about reacquainting you with this moving, consistently changing breath that has always been with you.

As your facilitator, I won’t be teaching you how to breathe, but will rather offer you entrances to experience your breath as it is now, and now, and now.
