Develop a Writing Ritual – 10-Week Program
This group is a weekly invitation to: lay on your floor and write poetry, get carried away on the adventure you’re writing about in your novel, dedicate space and attention to your memoir, sit with your journal and reflect on your experience of the world and of yourself, or to engage with whatever form of creativity is aching for expression within you.

About the Develop a Writing Ritual Classes
Has your creativity been yearning for your attention? In this 10-week program, you’ll start the term with a writing goal and begin to move through buried blocks to your creativity and create work that is meaningful to you. This is not a ‘write a book in 10 weeks’ kind of program! Instead, this is about learning to love the process of showing up the page, meeting your fear, allowing yourself space to dream and create, and treating your creativity and ideas with respect. All while in the company of others, who are doing the same.
Think of these sessions as your weekly play date with your creative self. Here’s what the next 10 weeks will look like:
Session 1: April 23rd
- In the first session of the series, we’ll meet one another and have a group discussion about the purpose of the group, and you’ll set a goal/intention for the program that feels nourishing and possible without unneeded strain or over-working. During this session you’ll also have an opportunity to write your own freewriting prompts that will support you for the rest of the program.
Sessions 2-9: April 30th – June 11th
- In weeks 2-9, you’ll be supported to make space to write every week with a guided, group writing practice that includes breath, freewriting, and 45 minutes of uninterrupted space to dedicate to your creativity. Feel free to turn your camera off. We’ll end each session with a short discussion about what you’re learning about your relationship to writing.
Session 10: June 25th
- In our final session of the series, we’ll debrief with one another. How did it go? How has your creative project developed? How has it felt to dedicate time and attention to your creativity? In this final session, you’ll write a letter to yourself 6 months from now sharing what you’ve learned. I’ll mail you that letter in December 2025.
“Ritual clears the fog of self-doubt” says Twyla Tharp in her book ‘The Creative Habit’. And that’s what I hope this space will do for you.
Testimonials:
“I have been working steadily for the past year with Christine on a novel that I’ve been writing. It’s been important for me to have the focus and space to write and the weekly sessions have been great. Christine has been patient and thoughtful and welcoming in my journey as a writer. I still have a long way to go, but I am so grateful that she has been alongside me for this journey.”
