21 DAY CHALLENGE
It’s the second day of the Happiness Advantage Project, and I have a lot to talk about.
3 new things I’m grateful for:
- I’m grateful that today I was able to meet with an agent in the industry, and have an excellent one hour discussion about my career. I’m grateful that I even have this opportunity to follow my dreams.
- I’m grateful for the beautiful weather, and for the heat. I love it when the sun comes out.
- I’m grateful for my metabolism, and the amount that good genes allow me to get away with.
Journal
What is a happy memory from today? This is fairly obvious today. Today I met with an agent from a major agency here in Vancouver. Yesterday I prepared for this meeting by going through all the questions I thought he might ask me, and formulated my answers. I walked into that office with my little folder with some key questions I wanted to ask, and some pictures I wanted to share. After entering the room, I very quickly began to relax. I just thought about how excited I was to be in that room, and how this meeting was about me. Who I choose as an agent is ultimately my decision. I shouldn’t be going into an agent’s office trying to prove myself. These meetings (as there will be more) are about finding a business partner – someone who I can talk to, and who understands what I want from this career and is ready to go all in with me. While looking back on this memory could be stressful, I consider it happy because the memory shows how I’m moving forward in my life. This memory reminds me of the many ways I have put my fears in their place, and done what I was afraid to do anyway.
Exercise
Last night I went to see the movie “Ruby Sparks” with Greg (which is, by the way, my favorite film so far this year), and so didn’t get to bed until late. This meant that I gave myself permission to sleep in a little bit. Once up, I went for a 10k run around at sea wall at 8am. The sun was out, and it was absolutely gorgeous. While I ran, I listened to a Jillian Michael’s Podcast (from the Jillian Michael’s Show), and pumped myself up for the events of the day.
Meditation
I have a series of meditations by Abraham Hicks, and today I did a 15 minute one by her on Financial abundance. I closed my eyes, and focused on my breathing. Yes, my mind wandered… but for the most part I was really able to let my body and mind relax. When I close my eyes, sometimes (if I focus) I can look inside myself. Everything gets darker as soon as I allow my mind to reunite with my inner self deep inside my core. Right now, I’m only able to stay in this deep meditative state for short bursts of time… but when I do it successfully it’s a surreal experience. Does this description make sense to anyone else?
Win/Win
Now, going back to the outline I’ve done up for myself for this project. This week is about identifying whether or not I’m a win/win person. This is a fitting topic as I search for an agent. I want to find a match where both parties win, and both parties feel as though they’ve gained something significant… ie. me!
Tomorrow, I am going to find and observe a person who I believe uses the win/win way of problem solving. In that post, I’ll tell you about my observations and what I’ve learned from this little experience.
I’ll also briefly go through the different ways in which people attempt to solve problems :Win/Lose, Lose/Win, Lose/Lose, Win/Win, Win/Win or no deal. Can you guess what each of the above mean?
That is all. I’m so excited that there are so many people doing this challenge with me. In fact, one of my readers has created a blog specifically for this challenge. Check it out by clicking here.
Prepare for a long juicy post tomorrow.
