What can you accomplish in a year?
Well, at the beginning of 2013 I was working at a gym, was flat broke and was feeling very unsure of the direction that I wanted my life to take. I played with the idea of being a personal trainer, writing book reviews and doing all these crazy things that were actually incredibly elaborate ploys to distract myself from doing what I really wanted to do… which was write and ACT.
So now, with the help of several self help books and A LOT of trial and error, I’m on my way towards creating the life of my dreams.
WordPress is kind enough to give those who blog with them stats at the end of the year. This was my second year blogging and I was surprised at the amount my blog has grown in that time. I’ve included my stats if you’re interested, but here’s a breakdown.
In 2012 this blog received:
- 14000 page views
- Reached 100 countries
- Published 126 new posts
AND in 2013 this blog received:
- 35000 page views
- Reached 149 countries
- Published 140 new posts (making my archive 265 posts).
Yesterday (January 3rd, 2014) I reached 50,000 views all time which was very exciting! I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who made this possible. I especially want to thank my most active readers: AdonaiShekhinah, neenslewy, Gratitudenist, sistasertraline, and Lindsay Edmunds. Your support means so much to me.
Obviously I didn’t create this blog with the intention of getting loads of traffic. I created it because I wanted to change my life, and I thought blogging would be a platform that would keep me accountable. It’s worked.
In 2013 I:
- Performed in 3 plays, 3 short films, and 1 feature.
- Ran my first half marathon in 1.56.38
- Appeared in my first exercise video (a yoga video as a student)
- Got a job as an assistant editor at My Yoga Online
- Got a job writing for a magazine in Victoria
- Began training in all of the areas that I wanted to as an actor.
How was 2013 for you? Are you ready to make 2014 even better?
What do you want to achieve in 2014? WRITE IT DOWN. Put your goals on paper. Even better, put them on a vision board.
My personal goals for 2014 are listed here —> Goals for 2014.
And my mantra:
“Say what you wanna say, and let the words fall out. Don’t run, just stop holding your tongue. Show the world how big your brave is.”
So let’s work together to make 2014 EVEN MORE SPECTACULAR than the year before. It’s going to be a good one.
Please comment with the number one thing that you’d like to achieve in 2014 below.
In 2014 I would like to triple the amount of acting work that I did last year, and I would like to be working exclusively as an actor and writer (no side job).
Let’s kill it.

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2013 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 35,000 times in 2013. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 13 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.
Well done. I am new to your site and hope to read more.
Thank you so much for your feedback. I’m glad that you’re enjoying my work 🙂
